E-Learning PPL(H) – Theory training for your helicopter license
Acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge for the PPL(H) theory exam flexibly and comfortably from home. You determine your own learning pace.
RECEIVING THE STUDY MATERIALS
After registration, you will receive all necessary documents in a printed binder.
In addition, further documents can be handed out during the classroom lesson, which you can file in the binder.
SELF-STUDY AND USE OF THE E-LEARNING PLATFORM
Each subject is learned and completed individually. You work through the content independently using the documents. Your progress is documented on the e-learning platform. Before attending the classroom lesson, a preliminary exam on the e-learning platform is required to obtain authorization for the attendance module.
PARTICIPATION IN THE CLASSROOM LESSON IN BEROMÜNSTER
A classroom lesson is mandatory for each subject. A final test is conducted during this lesson.
ADMISSION TO THE THEORY EXAM
After passing the final test, you register independently in dLIS. You register there and submit an exam application. Your application is then reviewed by the HSA Head of Training and approved for the official theory exam. Multiple subjects can be applied for and examined simultaneously.
You can get more information at: theorie@hsa.ch
HELP AND SUPPORT
For all questions about the process or details about the training, you can also contact the following email address before registration: theorie@hsa.ch
Here you will receive support if, for example, a preliminary exam needs to be reset on the e-learning platform or if there are any other uncertainties.
Of course, you may also ask your flight instructor about theory questions during practical training.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE E-BOOK
The e-book can be ordered optionally but is not recommended. While studying, notes must be taken and additional documents must be filed in the binder. This is not possible with the e-book, which is why the HSA strongly advises using the printed documents.
E-LEARNING HELICOPTER-SPECIFIC SUBJECTS (BRIDGE) PPL(H)
The bridge course is aimed at holders of an airplane license who wish to acquire a helicopter license. In this case, only the helicopter-specific subjects need to be ordered.
(Note: An e-learning for CPL(H) is not offered at the HSA.)
THEORETICAL EXAM FOCA / EASA
The FOCA exams take place every month at various locations in Switzerland. Any number of subjects can be taken per exam day. A maximum of 18 months may pass between the first and the last theoretical exam.
If you fail one or more subjects, each subject can be repeated up to three times. After the third failed attempt in one subject, the entire theory must be repeated.
After passing the last exam, you have 24 months to complete the practical flight test (Skill Test), the practical radiotelephony certificate (VFR Voice), and the English language proficiency check (LPC).
