PPL(H) The 9 theory subjects
The E Learning program supports you in preparing for the theoretical examination for your PPL(H) helicopter license. The nine required theory subjects are taught in a structured and practical manner. Interactive learning modules enable flexible preparation tailored to the requirements of Swiss and European aviation authorities.
General subjects
10 Air Law
You will learn about national and international regulations, the structure of airspace, and the rules of the air.
40 Human Performance
You will understand how your body reacts to the demands of flying and the physiological basics important for safe flight.
50 Meteorology
You will learn to interpret weather charts and forecasts, understand the structure of the atmosphere and recognize weather systems to assess risks at an early stage.
60 Navigation
You will gain knowledge of charts, geographical and magnetic orientation, coordinate systems, and radio navigation to reach your destination safely.
90 Communications VFR
You will practice the structure and flow of standard radio communication with air traffic control and review flight weather information and airspace details.
20 Aircraft General Knowledge
You will learn the principles of piston engines and turbines as well as the specific systems of helicopter components and instruments.
30 Flight Performance and Planning
You will learn how to plan flight routes, calculate fuel requirements, weight and balance, and determine the performance limits of your helicopter.
70 Operational Procedures
You will become familiar with the specifics of helicopter operations, particularly regarding handling on the ground and in the air.
80 Principles of Flight
You will learn how lift, drag, and rotor systems interact to keep the helicopter safely in the air.
